We have a long history of placing professional nannies with our families and have often worked with them since their baby was born.

We are well experienced in working as professional nannies ourselves, so we know exactly what the demands of the role are and how rewarding it is. We are always on the look out for high quality candidates to join our team.

Often, our families are clients that enjoyed newborn care support from our sister organisation, ‘The New Mummy Company’. As the baby grows, our families move on from needing newborn care into needeing a more traditional nannying service. Recruitments

Our nanny recruitment process is in place to ensure that we send our families the very best candidates. We are always looking for amazing nannies to place with our wonderful families. We aim to put as much care and attention into our nannies as we do our clients and as such, we have high standards in terms of who we work with.

  • Can you provide 3 professional references for us to contact regarding your experience?

We ask that all of our nannies have a valid CPR course taken within the last year and have a Vulnerable Sector Screening police background check. If you need help with getting these in place, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We ask for a minimum of 2 years professional experience but ideally you will have upwards of 5 years.

Early Childhood Education graduates, Montessori-trained nannies and nannies with daycare experiences are very popular with our families. If you are seeking to add a nanny specific qualification, The Nanny Agency is a member of the International Nanny Association, who run regular courses.

Yes, absolutely! You can take a CPR course and apply for your police check in parallel to the application process. We can support you with how to do this. We would recommend that you start them asap, we cannot put you forward for any positions until these are finalized and in place.

Nannies are not housekeepers or cleaners and at The Nanny Department we don’t expect them to be. However, some families may ask for light house work duties to be included in the nanny role. You have the opportunity to discuss exactly what this means at the interview. You need to make sure that you are comfortable with the expectations. Most families understand that more household duties they expect, the less time the nanny will have to care for the child(ren).

No. We do not work with families who want to pay cash ‘under the table’. You are an educated, qualified professional and deserve to be treated as such. It is illegal. If you do not have an employment or tax record, taking out mortgages or loans will be very difficult for you.
